Jan Hellriegel entered uncharted waters in 1991 when she became New Zealand's first female singer-songwriter to sign with a major label. With her finely-honed lyrics and rich vocals Jan's debut album, My Sin, was launched to critical acclaim in 1992 and included the hit, ‘The Way I Feel'. A second album came in 1995, and the following year she was awarded Single of the Year at the Music and Entertainer Awards for Manic.
Jan has toured with a number of top performers, including The Cure and has released four solo albums, the most recent being All Grown Up in 2009 and Lost Songs in 2013.
Not only is Jan a well-known recording artist, she has also enjoyed considerable success on the business side of the music industry. Most recently as GM of Native Tongue Music Publishing's NZ Operation. Now as well as the role MD of Aeroplane Music Services, Jan runs her own label, Blind Date Records, sits on the board of IMNZ and Recorded Music New Zealand, and is an APRA ambassador. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in music and business to share as a speaker.
